Upcoming Of ICUAS 2020

09/09/2019

In 2020 the International Conference on Unmanned Aircraft Vehicles will be held for first time outside of the US, in practice in Athens (Greece). In this conference GRIFFIN issues will be adresses as in 2019 ICUAS in Atlanta.

These conferences approaches the issues of integration of manned-unmanned aviation into the national airspace, legal, ethical and privacy issues, regulations, benefits of unmanned aviation to society, UAS/RPAS design for safety, reliability and resilience, and technology standards.  Every year many groups including funding agencies, academia and industry assist to ICUAS to discuss issues related to unmanned aircraft systems and their applications.

GRIFFIN presentation at ICUAS 19

13/06/2019

This Thursday June 13th the GRIFFIN project was disseminated in its first paper «A simple Model for Gliding and Low.Amplitude Flapping Flight of a Bio-Inspired UAV» during the International Conference on Unmmaned Aircraft Systems (ICUAS). The paper was presented by the GRVC researcher Antonio Martín Alcántara and it showed how the first prototype developed inside the project works.

The ICUAS conferences are celebrated every year in the United States. This year the event is held in Atlanta (Georgia). This event is an important yearly date for the experts and researchers in UAVs.

Plenary talk at ISAR ’19

27/05/2019

This year in the month of May the 3rd International Symposium on Aerial Robotics (ISAR) was held in Toronto, Canada. The head of GRVC Anibal Ollero is part of the organization committee and he delivered a plenary talk entitled “Aerial Robots with Manipulation Capabilities in Flight and Perched”, with the advances that in these moments are being developed inside the GRIFFIN project’s objectives.

Last year this event was held in Philadelphia, USA and count on the presence of group member Anibal Ollero and Arturo Torres, whom disseminated the AEROARMS, Multidrone and EUROC advances in their corresponding presentations “New Systems for Industrial Contact Inspection Pipes and Bridges by using Aerial Robotics Manipulators” and “UAL: an abstraction layer for unmanned vehicles”. The ISAR has become during this past three years in an important date for the UAVs experts in USA and Europe, thanks to the organisational skills of the New York University researcher Giuseppe Loianno. part of the IEEE TC on Aerial Robotics and Unmanned Vehicles.
