GRIFFIN, the results of AEROARMS to develop Bioinspired Aerial Robotic Manipulators

The latest updated “Results in Brief” of CORDIS (The European Commission’s primary service for EU-funded research result, in six languages) published an article with the title “AI-powered drones for difficult maintenance tasks” in which GRIFFIN was mentioned.

Professor Ollero explains: “Meanwhile, my European Research Council (ERC) Advanced Grant GRIFFIN is using the results of AEROARMS to develop a new generation of bioinspired aerial robotic manipulators”

Griffin at the ERF

The GRVC had a significant presence in the European Robotics Forum 2020, held at the Trade Fair and Congress Centre of Malaga (FYCMA) from 3rd to March 3rd to 5th. The ERF is the largest event of the robotics and artificial intelligence community in Europe, attended by more than 800 experts and entrepreneurs.

The GRVC showed in its stand at the Congress Centre prototypes of biomorphic aerial robots developed in the GRIFFIN ERC Advanced Grant.

During the ERF Professor Anibal Ollero showed the GRIFFIN birds and the other GRVC robots at the stand to the Andalusian Minister of Economy, Knowledge, Business and University, Rogelio Velasco.

Professor Ollero gave a lecture at the Royal Seville Academy of Sciences

Last Wednesday on the 22th of January, Professor Ollero gave a lecture about the evolution of aerial robotics and its possible future. The Vice Chancellor Rector for Research were present at the lecture that took place at the Royal Seville Academy of Sciences.
